THE STORY OF EVE’S KLUB
It all began on the Christmas Eve of December 24,1987. Eve’s Klub was born, but how was
she conceived?
Some groups of friends, Secondary School friends as at then, usually come together at the
year end, beginning probably from 1982, to organize a get together to celebrate Christmas.
Every interested participant is required to contribute five Naira (N5.00) each into a pool.
Those that could not contribute or refused to do so were locked out of the groove and fun.
At one point, someone suggested that it would make it easier to have more people
contribute if we can start putting our money together in piece meal as it was kind of a difficult
job to raise five Naira at once during the December month. This idea helped to give us a big
boomed party in 1986.
And then came the year 1987. One of us, to be precise, Mr. Clement Amegor said since we
have been able to be organizing this end of year party for a while, we can as well turn it to a
club, giving it a name and institute more good conduct that will guide us. Everyone saw
something good in that, but what do we call it? Various suggestions were given, but the word
EVE’S KLUB took the front seat. Because the party that always bring all these friends
together was held on Christmas eve, we chose and adopted EVE’S KLUB as our official
name.
On March 20, 1993, the Eve’s Klub Japan also came to be.
And on January 15, 2012 Eve’s Klub Canada was born. The trills, the bond, the oneness and
the spirit to carry on as OUR BROTHER’S KEEPER all these years has never waned.
